The story began in Sham Shui Po, Hong Kong, where Man Po Tong Yick Kee Herbal Tea Shop opened on Nam Cheong Street. During his years of medical practice, Mr. Wong To Yick treated many grassroots patients and became deeply aware of their pain-related conditions and everyday health challenges.
1960s
Guided by the core TCM principle — “Free flow means no pain, pain means no free flow”. Mr. Wong To Yick developed his own medicated balm. He named it after himself, marking the official birth of the Wong To Yick Wood Lock Medicated Balm brand.

The first Wong To Yick Wood Lock Medicated Balm retail store opened in Sham Shui Po, Hong Kong. Thanks to its proven efficacy and strong word-of-mouth reputation, the brand quickly became a trusted household remedy across Hong Kong.

To promote the concept of self-care and introduce automated equipment to enhance production efficiency by replacing manual processes, Wong To Yick Wood Lock Ointment Limited was officially established.
